As I've said before, I like to update my white dress collection every summer with something a little bit different. Usually, I follow seasonal trends but sometimes I get a new classic that will last me year after year (like the shirt dress you will see me in a lot on Instagram). This summer, I was completely influenced by the little white dresses on the SS16 catwalks. In particular, those by Zimmermann and Bora Aksu in lace with high necks and ruffles as if they were, yep, you guessed it: on the prairie.
The highstreet also has some great versions and this River Island number has already carried me through a couple of last-minute events. However, if you're not really in the market for a new white dress and want to update one you already own to create the prairie look then choose your accessories wisely. For the added extras in this outfit, I've stuck to materials such as ribbon, denim and leather to match that oh so natural vibe.
