Trending: Lace

Hi everyone!

I hope your 2017 has got off to a spiffing start! I'm back with a bit of a change to my previous monthly trend category as I felt it was time to switch things up. Aside from the fact that it is healthy to keep evolving, we are also heading into a new season and that means a whole new catalogue of trends are ready to adorn our blog pages and wardrobes. It could be that I decide to go back to my previous 'This Month I'm Loving' format but come along on the journey with me and we'll find out...

To kick things off, I'm sharing with you one of my favourite ways to wear lace at the moment. Following the underwear as outerwear trend, this season will be all about layering lace and thinking outside the box. Over a plain white tee, this Zara pretty steals the daytime show. For the evening, try wearing it over a simple black dress; adding texture will immediately transform that LBD you've shoved to the back of your wardrobe into a showstopper!

Sunglasses: Coconut Lane
Choker: Topshop
Faux Fur Jacket: Blue Vanilla (old)
T-shirt: ASOS
Lace Top: Zara (pink version)
Jeans: ASOS
Boots: Topshop

As usual, all items are linked above, and you'll notice that this is a separate t-shirt and lace top that I've put together. However, a lot of brands are offering combined ones now to save you the hassle of getting the match right. Here are a couple of my faves (click image for links):

Ciao for now,

My Sale Picks

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I hope you've all had a wonderful Christmas and are ready for the year ahead!

As usual, I spent some of the Christmas period shopping so thought I'd show you guys a sales haul.

Left to right, top to bottom:

Lasula Netted Ankle Socks: I've wanted a pair of fishnet socks for a while but ASOS keeps selling out so I was thrilled when I found them on Lasula. They look amazing with fray-hem jeans, which are set to get even bigger this season FYI, and under strappy shoes. I'm mostly going to wear mine with one of my favourite pairs of heels (if you follow me on Instagram, you will have seen these allllllllll summer). My feet get a bit chilly in them at the minute so I'm hoping the socks will help a bit as I'm really missing wearing them:

Topshop Frill Neck Satin Top: Now, this is a statement blouse if ever I saw one! Frills will be huge in SS17 so if you can get our hands on this much-coveted detail in the sales, bag it without hesitation.

Topshop Faux Fur Shawl: I've been searching for a tricolour faux fur scarf all season but I either didn't like the colours or they sold out. I love this Topshop one and plan to wear it first with a plain black dress.

Lasula Pink Velvet Tracksuit: Velvet is the ultimate material for lounging in and after the Christmas festivities, I'm looking forward to chilling out in this.

New Look Pink Double Pocket Maxi Coat: Finally, I've got the perfect pink shade on a classic coat; this will cover me winter after winter so it really is an investment piece.

Lasula Camel Knitted Jumper Dress: Another wardrobe staple at this time of year, I'll be pairing it with loafers and a camel overcoat.

Breville Blend Active Pro Family VBL096: I'm not someone who uses the new year to make resolutions; I generally make positive changes to my life all year round. However, it just so happens that I've recently decided to adjust my diet a little to ensure I am getting everything I need. There were a fair few sales on kitchen electricals, as you can imagine, but this seemed like the best one for what I wanted. No doubt you'll be seeing plenty of pictures of the finished products across social media.

M&S Satin Balcony Bra: A little tip for you all - top up on new underwear for the year in the Boxing Day sales. I do it annually at M&S and especially love the Rosie Huntington-Whiteley range.
