Cosy Saturday

Goodness, I just love cosy Saturdays spent brunching + walking around looking at things - don't you?

My boyfriend and I decided to go to a coffee shop in our village for some food which was super yummy (I had bacon & maple syrup waffles!)

As we have Liverpool & Manchester on our doorstep, we don't spend much time in our local surroundings so I'm really glad we did.

Not least because a lovely new boutique opened today in the village so I got to have a nosey around there after brunch too. I'm sure you'll agree that there's just something great about looking through fab individual pieces as opposed to rails of highstreet stock - check out what I bought below.

We're off to a private screening of the new Bond film now c/o Jaguar Land Rover - chat tomorrow!

Cream Leather

Scarf: H&M (old) - similar here
Faux leather dress: Zara
Bag: Topshop (old) - similar here
Cream ankle boots: Missguided

Let's talk about these boots... Aren't they just gorgeous? The cream colour isn't something I would have considered before as we all tend to wear darker colours in the A/W season but this year, we saw Valentino bring these beauties out (here and here) and thankfully Topshop (sold out) and Missguided followed suit.

The key to wearing these lighter shades throughout the A/W season lies with the texture. As you can see, I've played around with leather-effect materials + faux fur to create that warm, luxurious feeling we all want when the weather turns cooler. The braided detail on the dress reinforces this as it brings a 3D impression to the overall look.

And if you absolutely must bring a much-loved autumnal colour into your cream outfit - throw on a plum lipstick as I have here. I'm wearing Models Own Very Berry Lip-Stix.

Blue Vanilla

Last week, I had the great fortune of being invited to the Blue Vanilla Press Breakfast in London's Covent Garden. Hosted by Chase PR, the event was absolutely on point: the venue, the clothes, the canapés...

If you're wondering where you know the 'Blue Vanilla' name from then cast your mind back to the last time you shopped in New Look and you'll get your answer.

Branching out now to join the ever-expanding world of online fast fashion, everything about them screams success. Just take a look at some of these pieces...

I immediately fell in love with these latter three pieces and have since bought the metallic stripe dress and the blanket wrap. The ombré ostrich jacket sold out in my size almost as soon as it landed online so I haven't managed to get that... yet! I'll of course be doing follow-ups to this post with the pieces I bought for you guys so keep your eyes out!

As for the actual quality of the pieces, I can't speak highly enough of the fabrics and materials. Everything just felt like it had come from a well-established, designer brand and you can't fault that type of luxury at Blue Vanilla's price points (prices start from just £8.00.)

But what was I wearing on the day I hear you ask? This denim dress from ASOS is just everything I've wanted and more from a denim dress for a while now. You'll have seen my light blue, summer-time one in past blogposts (here for example) but this darker shade just goes perfectly with all of those gorgeous autumnal shades out there. You'll also remember these Topshop boots from my 'Introducing' post back in August. I knew how popular they'd be for this season so snapped them up early and now I just love styling them.

And here's me in some of the items so you can see how wearable they are:

Huge thanks to the Chase PR girls for inviting me and for hosting such a super sleek morning!

PS: I've linked the pics to pieces that are online now so the ones that aren't linked aren't available yet. I've been assured they're coming soon so I'll update the links as soon as I can.

This Month I'm Loving... OTK Boots

If you haven't seen a pair of Stuart Weitzman's OTK (over the knee) boots on social media over the past year then you must have been living in a hole. They're soft, subtly sexy and oh so desirable! Of course, they cost a pretty penny too so this season, high street retailers have seized the opportunity to jump into the (thigh) gap in the market.

I, personally, have some flat black ones from Kurt Geiger last year that I've already been wearing this Autumn (you'll get a chance to see them in my next 'Missguided Lately' post.) I also have a heeled grey suede pair quite similar to the Stuart Weitzman's ones that you can see here and here.

I would like another colour too but I need a bit more time to think on that (you'll be the first to know when I decide!) In the meantime, however, here's my pick of both budget and blow-out buys:

Low Heel

High Heel

Go on - treat yourself!
