Dress: Missguided
Bag: similar
Boots: River Island

In keeping with my Safari trend of the month, I just had to have this dress. I love prints in monochrome and the shirt-dress is one of my go-to items for work and play. At the moment, I'm wearing it with boots and hats and tights and all those wintry things but by the time summer comes, I've got my eye on some black and rattan espadrilles for it.

Skinny Scarf

Skinny scarf: ASOS
Bag: similar
Jeans: ASOS
Heels: Miss KG

Need a new way to wear that slogan tee and the ripped jeans you've had for years? Look no further...

A skinny scarf is THE way to update all of your basic weekend outfits this season. I got this plain black one from ASOS and it's quite a bargain really when you consider how many things you can wear it with. I've also bought a white one and I already had gold and silver so that's probably enough to see me through SS16 (even though I love the floral ones Ted Baker has released!)

Also, if you're looking for a new bag for summer then the bucket or duffle bag is the way to go. I got two last summer and they were so easy to carry around on those carefree, sunny days so I've already got them back out now that the weather is slightly (emphasis on "slightly") warmer.

Obviously I've worn this outfit with heels here but afterwards, I just threw on some Reebok Classics and a fur coat with it and I loved how it worked for an afternoon drink and cinema trip. I've been looking for a great pair of black courts for ages, just to dress up jeans, and I really liked how these have two textures to them.

March's Instagram

Left to right, top to bottom:

1. I finally got the perfect diary to organise my life AND the perfect marble background to photograph on! I've recently done a lot of blog planning so I need to make sure I have room for every detail of my schedule in one book.

2. There a lot of changes going on in my life at the moment and I've had to make a few life choices of late. These haven't been easy to carry out but it's always important to remember that we are fortunate enough to be able to make our own decisions.

3. I love this shot by Vogue Paris from the Carven show as it just sums up my clothing ambitions for the season ahead. As you know, I've been stocking up on both my light pinks and safari prints already.

4. This Coconut Lane marble bangle that absolutely everyone asked me about came back into stock briefly. Fingers crossed it'll return again! And if it does, you can get 20% off site wide with my unique code*: astyleisborn20.

5. Back to these blush shades of pink I keep talking about again; Balenciaga this time.

6. I'm slightly ashamed of myself for forgetting that I bought these boots in the January sales but let's not dwell on the past. I wore them with jeans and a jumper so they remained the main focus of my outfit.

Marble

As soon as I bought this skirt, I knew instantly that this is how I wanted to wear it: skinny scarf + off-the-shoulder top + pencil skirt = all the right proportions. If I had one tip for you this Spring/Summer, it'd be to put your skinny scarves with any cold shoulder detailing as the outcome is so stylish. I mean, just imagine it with a simple pair of jeans, for example.

Monochrome is also making a comeback. It's true that it's a timeless look so it's easy to wear but adding in a pattern just updates it effortlessly. And what's more on trend than marble afterall?

This Month I'm Loving... Safari Chic

Hi everyone!

I'm so sorry I haven't posted this week; I'm really busy at the minute and in around two weeks' time, you'll find out why.

This month, I've been drawn towards khaki and beige tones even more than usual, hence why I've chosen safari chic as my trend of the month. I actually fell in love with it when I was around 17 and on a school trip in Lille, France. We had some free time so  I went to stock up on Mango merch, as you do, and I wore this fawn jacket I got from there to death... Until it broke actually!

What I like most about it is that it allows me to add a bit of colour and print to my wardrobe. You know I like to stick to classic monochrome and neutral shades so this trend allows me to liven things up a bit whilst still fitting right in with my look.

And if you want to do it subtly with the feather earrings above, you can get 20% off with my unique code: astyleisborn20.*

Baby Blue

Dress: Missguided
Jacket: Zara (old)
Bag: Michael Kors Ava
Heels: River Island

Hopefully this is the last time I'll have to shoot inside (until next winter anyway). You may have noticed I've done it a few times recently but I haven't had a choice; I'm so envious of bloggers that live in warmer climates!

As I said in my Valentine's Post, we went out for dinner in the evening and this is what I wore.  There's something about suede and leather in these unexpected, softer shades that's so appealing.

My favourite part of the dress is the detail at the top as it's so elegant. I kept my hair and makeup simple so as to let the dress do the talking.

Hope you're having a great week so far,

Jacqueline xx
